Last Saturday, I attended the lovely Chicago Blogger Meetup, organized by Lisa of Archives Vintage, to mingle with other local bloggers. This little soiree took place at Deliciously Vintage in Pilsen, and was attended by a very eclectic, stylish variety of mostly twenty-something women (plus the shop owner, Law.) The evening was filled with a carefully curated selection of vintage duds, champagne, cake balls, awkward and pleasant small talk, a generous goodie bag, and overall good times. Here's the brief visual recap:
I need this sofa and chandelier, possibly more than the clothes above.
The swag bags! My favorite was the bag itself from Lill Studio - big enough to hold a laptop - hello!
Overall, I met a lot of lovely ladies, whether it was brief and I didn't have a chance to inquire about their impeccable vintage collection, entertaining blog (so many!), or whether they cracked me up as I gave them a ride home. While sometimes it can be hard to put yourself in a room full of basic strangers, I always find that I take something very positive away from the experience. Over the past few years, I've come to value networking, creating communities, and meeting strangers more than ever. And I'm slowly getting used to talking to strangers in the process.
See the full list of participants and peep their blogs with (better) photos from the event here. I know I've already added a hefty handful of new material to my trusty Google reader and will undoubtedly find my way back to Deliciously Vintage for purchases. Thanks to Lisa of Archives Vintage for organizing!
