Senior Interior Designer
Position Overview
Unpatterned is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Interior Designer to lead residential projects from concept through completion. This role requires a strong design sensibility, excellent client management skills, and the ability to oversee multiple projects while being highly collaborative with the Principal and other team members. This position is full time and will include a minimum of three days onsite at our Ravenswood office and project locations, pending client schedules.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design and execution of residential projects, including new construction, renovations, and full-service furnishings and decor
Collaborate and provide support for the Principal and other team members
Develop and present creative design concepts, space plans and material palettes, including product research, pricing, creation of mood boards, project presentations and related documents
Produce and review detailed design documentation and construction drawings, including on-site measures, space planning, millwork drawings, interior elevations, details via AutoCad, specifications, budgets and schedules
Create 3D renderings and 2D color mockup presentations
Comprehensive client and project management throughout the length of the project, including communicating and managing client expectations, collaborating with contractors, architects and vendors, and problem-solving in the field
Review all design drawings, details, specifications, communications for clarity, technical accuracy, quality and completeness prior to issuance
Oversee procurement processes, including sourcing, pricing, proposals, invoices ordering, tracking, and installation
Maintain project momentum and deadlines from Client onboarding through offboarding
Act as an extension of the Principal in project management, processes, and overall vision and execution
Mentor and manage fellow team members, including providing thoughtful feedback and support
Stay current with industry trends, materials, and best practices
Occasional assistance or participation in marketing efforts, including social media, website, and email marketing campaigns
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a residential interior design or architecture firm
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end residential work and thoughtful design ability
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required), SketchUp, Canva a plus
Knowledge of HouzzPro a plus
Knowledge of AI use for renderings a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence in managing Clients, contractors and team members
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Ability and willingness to participate in various aspects of an interior design firm, including adapting and evolving processes
Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and furnishings
Ability to work independently, including setting and meeting deadlines, and as part of a team, including supporting the Principal and other team members, and the day-to-day
Strong technical design skills from the schematic design through construction documentation and execution level
An eye for color, pattern and materials
Personal pride and accountability for quality work and upholding the firm’s vision
Reliable access to a car and valid drivers license to travel to/from project sites as well as job-related errands
Sense of humor, ability to make work fun
